The journey with Christ towards Resurrection Sunday has begun yesterday, Ash Wednesday. Take these 40 days (excluding the weekends) of Lent to reflect, repent, and renew in the promises of Christ, our Saviour and Redeemer. We shall find refuge and solace in Him, as solid as a rock, as soothing as the gentle breeze, as refreshing as living water that gushes out of the fountain.
I am reminded of what the great late German Reformer, Martin Luther, said: “When I look at myself, I don’t know how I can be saved. When I look at my Christ, I don’t know how I can be lost.”
Let this journey of experiencing Christ be penitent to appreciate how sin is so costly but, at the same time a journey to be joyous as you enjoy the salvation of the Lord in your new life in Him.
