Palm Sunday 2019
About 2000 plus years ago, that day when Jesus rode on a donkey into Jerusalem, the happy crowds welcomed Him by spreading their garments and leafy palm branches across the road and shouting

Yesterday was Palm Sunday. We did not put the palm leaves or branches along the pews. But we did worship and honor the King of Kings that came on the donkey the first time because He came in peace. But the Second Coming of this King will be on a horse, and if you are not already on His side, that means war!
About 2000 plus years ago, that day when Jesus rode on a donkey into Jerusalem, the happy crowds welcomed Him by spreading their garments and leafy palm branches across the road and shouting
"Hosanna to the Son of David!
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!"
Hosanna means “save or rescue us, we pray”. The crowd was proclaiming with joy and anticipation. They somewhat saw Jesus as the awaited Messiah who would deliver them from the Roman master. However, they didn't get the right understanding of Jesus' kingship. He didn't come as a political Messiah for Israel but as a suffering Servant who laid down His life for the Fallen human beings. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we receive hope from Him - our eternity spent with Him as children of God. We put our faith in the shedding of His Blood to have death pass over us.
It is time we make peace with this King of Peace. We reconcile with our Maker. Receive this King to deliver us from the power of sin and death. He has conquered our greatest enemy - sin. He is the only Saviour who can deliver us from death.
At the same time, as a church, on Palm Sunday, we have finally ended the journey on the preaching of the Romans series. And with that, we concluded:
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13 NASB
