499 years ago today, a German professor of theology, an Augustinian monk, nailed his 95 theses challenging several teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. Martin Luther rightly taught that the Bible is the only ultimate source of divine revelation of God and that salvation is found by faith in Christ Jesus alone. Thus began the spread of the Reformation.
When the church is not conformed to the Bible, it must repent and reform. Otherwise, it will deform. Do not let history repeat itself. Today, it is known as the Protestant Reformation Day.
May the Church today courageously rise to preach the Word of God like it is and be the place where people will know the steadfast love of Christ and put their faith in Him as their Lord and Saviour.
