This year the Season of Advent begins on the 3rd December. This Christian Season teaches us the lessons of waiting; anticipating; hope; patience; to watch and be ready, prepare – in view of waiting for Christ’s birth and the King’s Second Coming.
As an international church, we bade some of our members farewell as they returned to their home countries this year. At the same time, we also saw some new members joining us. We pray for more to share our vision to seek the shalom of this wonderful vibrant city.
All these took place to fulfil what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
We celebrate Christmas – the birth of our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ on the third Advent Sunday. We are aware that 25th of December is not the actual birthday of Jesus so we know it is also fine that we may choose a special Sunday to celebrate Christmas for our ICF International Family.
The Bible points out: How can a mouth filled with praise to God one moment and the next be filled with curses? Surely this is not right. We want our mouths to be overflowing with joy and thankfulness.
